Transmission Line Animations
The applications listed below were developed in MATLAB 2020b. We have provided both the native MATLAB files, which require a valid MATLAB license, and the corresponding standalone apps.
Please note that the installation package for the standalone apps includes the MATLAB Compiler Runtime (MCR), which is necessary for the apps to run. This package automatically installs both the MCR and the app, and it does not require a MATLAB license. However, the package is quite large, approximately 800MB.

2D AnimationThis application allows you to see an animation of incident and reflected voltages along a 50 Ω transmission line, as well the total voltage and standing wave. You can choose among 5 terminations for the line: open, short, match, 25 Ω and 100 Ω.

3D Animation (New!)The 3D animation shows the total voltage versus time and versus position along a 50 Ω transmission line, terminated with open, short, match, 25 Ω and 100 Ω. In addition to seeing the standing wave across the length of the line, one can also see the time domain voltage at any point along the line.
